University of Pittsburgh IBC review and approval is required prior to Institutional Review Board review for clinical trials.
Virus & Vector Standards
Researchers must adhere to certain standards when working with viruses and vectors. Genetic manipulations that have the potential to increase pathogenicity may raise the recommended BSL, and may also require review by the federal Recombinant Advisory Committee.
Forms
Online forms have replaced paper, creating a more efficient process for researchers.
Membership
The IBC is looking for individuals interested in committee membership. A scientific background is highly recommended but not required.
Meeting Dates
The IBC meets the second Monday of each month, unless otherwise noted.
